About
I’m Rosie.
I run Petal & Code, an independent web design studio on the Surrey and South West London border. I design and build websites for businesses across the UK, from one-page sites to booking systems and online tools.
How I got here
My dad used to shoot on film when I was little, and that’s where my interest in photography started. I liked how the same scene could feel completely different depending on how you framed it. I went on to study Creative Media and Photography.
My career took a different route after that. I worked as a project controller, planner and scheduler on projects across engineering, IT and defence. I started in the UK and later moved to Australia for two years to help set up a new major project.
I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and figuring out how to make things work better. While I was in Australia, I wrote code to automate some of the repetitive tasks we’d been doing by hand.
When I came back to the UK, I wanted to get back to design and keep doing the problem-solving I’d always enjoyed. That’s why I started Petal & Code.

Before we start, I’ll put in writing what’s included, how long it’ll take and what it’ll cost. You and I will also agree when I’ll need things from you, whether that’s photos for a page or feedback on a design.
I think about the person using your site
For Monday Girl Hair Studio, I put appointment days and prices alongside the hair gallery. Someone arriving from Instagram could see the work and decide whether to enquire in one visit.
I’m careful with what you share
I’ve worked on confidential projects and have training in handling sensitive information. If I’m building an enquiry form for you, for example, we’ll talk through which details you need from customers and who needs to see them.
