Who it’s for
A local designer who also builds.
I’m right on the line between Surrey and South West London, which means Kingston, Sutton, Epsom, New Malden, Wimbledon and Cheam are all a few minutes away. If you run a business in any of them, I know your customers, your competitors and what a site around here has to do to stand out.
I design and build the work myself. There’s no account manager, no handover to an outsourced developer and no template with your logo dropped in. We plan what the site has to do for your business, I design it, you approve it, and I build it.
Businesses around here compete with London prices and London expectations, so a site that looks like it was made in a hurry costs you work. The aim is a site that looks as established as the big firms, at a price that makes sense for a local business.
What’s included
What local businesses ask me for.
The three things most Surrey and South West London businesses come to me for, and what each starts at.
- A website that brings in enquiries. Planned around how your customers find you and what they need to see before they call. From £2,800, typically live in 4–6 weeks. Website design in full.
- A brand that looks established. Logo, colours, fonts and voice that work on a van, a shopfront, a phone screen and a quote. From £1,500. Brand identity in full.
- An online tool that saves time. Booking systems, instant quote tools and customer portals built around the way you already work. From £8,500. Online tools in full.
- Local search set up properly. Page titles, structure and a Google Business Profile that put you on the map for the searches your customers actually type.
- A straight answer first. The first conversation is free, by video or phone, and if a cheaper route is right for you I’ll say so.
Area
Where I work.
Locally: Kingston upon Thames, Surbiton, New Malden, Sutton, Cheam, Epsom, Ewell, Wimbledon, Raynes Park, Morden and the rest of South West London, plus Surrey towns. I know the area and the kind of businesses that do well here, which shapes the planning.
Everywhere else: the same process. Every project runs by video, phone and email, from the first conversation to launch, so a business in Manchester gets exactly the same service as one round the corner. RentFairly, the latest project, was planned and built without a single in-person meeting.

Local questions
Do you only work with businesses in Surrey?
No. Being on the border means I know Surrey and South West London well, which helps when planning a site for a local business. But every project runs by video, phone and email, so I work with clients across the UK in exactly the same way.
How do we work together?
By video, phone and email. The first conversation is a free video or phone call, design reviews happen on screen, and you can reach me by email throughout. It keeps things quick, and it means a business in Kingston and a business in Carlisle get the same attention.
What do local businesses usually need?
Most often a website that brings in enquiries and a brand that looks established: trades, salons, cafés, letting agents, clinics and consultants. Some need a booking system or a customer portal on top. Prices start at £1,500 for brand identity and £2,800 for a website.
Will my business show up for local searches?
Every site I build has the structure Google needs, and I’ll set up or tidy your Google Business Profile as part of the launch, since that’s what puts a local business on the map for “near me” searches. Nobody can promise a position, but I’ll show you exactly what to keep doing after launch.
Are you an agency?
No. Petal & Code is one person. You deal with me from the first conversation to launch, and I design and build the work myself. That keeps prices lower than an agency and means nothing gets lost between a designer and a developer.
