Who it’s for

Built for the job it has to do.

A website for a joiner needs to bring in calls. A website for a café needs to show the menu, the hours and how to book a table. A letting agent’s site needs to make people trust them before they pick up the phone. None of those are the same site, so I don’t start from a template.

We start with what the site has to achieve and who’ll be using it. Then I plan the pages, write or shape the content with you, design it, and build it. You see and approve every stage before the next begins.

Because I design and build myself, nothing is lost in handover between a designer and a developer. What you approve on screen is what goes live. I’m based on the Surrey and South West London border, and work with Surrey and South West London businesses the same way as everyone else: by video, phone and email, so nothing waits on a diary.

What’s included

Everything a site needs to earn its keep.

Every website project includes the following. Nothing on this list is an extra.

  • A page plan. Which pages you need, what each one is for and how a visitor gets from landing on the site to contacting you.
  • Design for every screen. Phones first, since that’s where most visitors arrive, then tablets and computers.
  • Search foundations. Page titles and descriptions written for the searches you want to appear in, fast loading, clean structure, a sitemap and the structured data Google reads.
  • Your tools connected. Booking, payments, newsletters or a calendar you already use, wired into the site rather than bolted on.
  • Accessibility built in. Readable contrast, keyboard navigation and screen-reader support, to recognised standards.
  • Editing, if you want it. The ability to change text, photos and details yourself, with a short walkthrough so you’re confident doing it.
  • Launch and 30 days of fixes. Your domain pointed, the site live, and anything not working as designed fixed free for 30 days.
  • Yours to keep. Design, code and content are yours once the final invoice is paid.

Pricing

What moves the price.

The £2,800 starting point covers a site of around five pages with your own words and photos. From there, three things change the figure most: the number of pages, whether I write the copy, and what the site needs to connect to.

A ten-page site with copywriting throughout usually sits around £4,500–£5,500. A site that takes bookings, sells a handful of products with secure checkout, or shows live availability is priced on what’s involved, and I’ll tell you before we start.

Half is due to begin and half on launch. I’m not VAT registered, so the price you’re quoted is the price you pay. If you’re weighing this against a DIY builder, here’s an honest comparison.

How it works

Four steps, one person.

  1. 01

    First conversation

Tell me about the business and what the site needs to do. I’ll reply within two working days, then we’ll have a free call.

  2. 02

    Plan and proposal

You get a page plan, what’s included, the dates and the price in writing. Half is due to begin.

  3. 03

    Design, then build

You approve the design before I build it, with two rounds of changes at each stage. Content comes in alongside.

  4. 04

    Launch

The site goes live on your domain, hosted by you or by me. Fixes are free for 30 days, and support is there after that if you want it.

Website questions

How much does a website cost?

Websites start at £2,800. A typical small-business site of five to eight pages, with copy you supply, lands between £2,800 and £4,500. Copywriting, a larger page count, or connecting booking and payment tools add to that, and the written proposal sets the exact figure before anything starts. There’s a fuller breakdown in How much does a website cost in the UK?

How long does it take?

Typically 4–6 weeks from the agreed brief, as long as your content arrives when planned. The biggest cause of delay on any website project is the words and photos, so we agree those dates at the start.

Can I update the site myself?

Yes, if you want to. I can set up editing for text, photos, prices and opening hours so you don’t need me for everyday changes. If you’d rather not touch it, I can make updates for you on a pay-as-you-go basis or a monthly plan.

Will my site show up on Google?

Every site I build has the foundations search engines look for: clear page titles and descriptions, fast pages that work on phones, proper structure and a sitemap. Nobody can honestly promise a position, because that also depends on your content, reviews and competition, but you’ll start on the right footing and I’ll show you what to do next.

Do I need branding first?

Not necessarily. If you already have a logo and colours, I’ll work with them. If you don’t, brand identity can be done first, or alongside the website. Here’s how to decide.

Who owns the website?

You do. Once the final invoice is paid, the design, code and content are yours, and the domain is always in your name. You can host it with me from £20 a month or take it anywhere.

Next step

Tell me about your website.

Share a few details and I’ll send my first thoughts within two working days, then a free call to talk it through.
